What To Buy With Amazon Gift Cards

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

We always end up with a few Amazon gift cards around the holidays and I’m sure you do as well. It’s so easy to add those balances to your account and forget about it. I find that if you’re looking to buy a higher-priced item, now is the time to use those gift cards. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Did you know you can get most fitness equipment on Amazon now? You can find everything from Nordic Track to Peloton on their site. As we all know how pricey these can get, it’s a perfect opportunity to utilize those gift cards. For the kitchen, I’d recommend treating yourself to a great coffee maker or an Amazon Echo. Both are everyday staples in our home. This Gucci Soho bag is a classic as well! (I’ve added this less expensive option below!)

If you’re looking to freshen up your home, I love these items that are both functional and pretty. This rattan side table is perfect for a bedroom, bathroom, mudroom, you name it! Rattan mirrors, bamboo melamine dishes, and a few beautiful green and white home decor options as well! Add in a coffee table book, candle, or tray and you’ve got a lovely little grand millenial home situation happening.

In terms of clothing this sweatshirt has been a recent favorite of mine and is the perfect lululemon dupe.  I also love a classic open front cardigan to add some sophistication to a tee and denim. This woven bag has been catching my eye for a while now as well!  In case you need more ideas you can always head to my amazon storefront and find more ideas by category! Happy Shopping!

Part of what I love about this time of year is the chance to get dressed up in our finest to celebrate the season with loved ones and friends. Whether you have a cocktail party, are out getting your tree or are attending a gift exchange, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite holiday looks below.

Our Holiday Home Tour

Our home is holiday ready and we are ready to sit back and enjoy it! I love dressing up (plaid dress here) (shoes here) during the holidays and entertaining family and friends! This year I wanted to share our home decked out for the holidays and I’ve teamed up with a couple of friends to create a week long tour of holiday homes! So be sure to check out these lovely ladies and their holiday decor!

Let’s get started…

Our Holiday Stairway

I love adding magical moments to our home during the holiday season. The feeling that comes with Christmas is to me far better than the season. It is a true feeling of magic and I want our children to remember that feeling forever. I love adding candlelight in my favorite glass hurricanes or twinkle lights whenever possible. Sometimes that means throwing practical to the wind and embracing the magical! I always add a faux cedar garland to our wallpapered stairway and adorn it with ribbon for a festive touch.

Our Holiday Dining Room

I love adding in traditional Christmas red during the holiday season especially with blue and white decor.  Something about the pop of red mixed in with our daily home decor makes our home extra festive.  It is a fun time to embrace an extra pop of color when I ordinarily wouldn’t.

One of my favorite ways to decorate during the holidays is with greenery both real and faux. It is an easy way to fill this wicker vase and adds instant texture to the room. It also compliments our dining pendant as well! I added a combination of red and blue linen ribbon to our ginger jars in the dining room. It was a simple and inexpensive way to add a festive touch. I found this classic blue and white chinoiserie Christmas tree and thought it would be the perfect touch. This blue and white tablecloth has carried me through all the seasons.  I love a touch of classic navy!

Holiday Powder Bath

This already cheerful bathroom became even more so with a little holiday decor. I love adding a swag or wreath to wall sconces.  I found these sweet boxwood wreaths with red berries and added red ribbon for a nostalgic feel. I love these raffia wrapped glasses that I often double as a vase! Perfect vase for a small surface like our pedestal sink!

Holiday Living Spaces

Creating a cozy holiday haven for our littles has always been something I love to do. Our children really get into the holiday spirit and they love decorating the house and I love creating a joyful space for them to celebrate the season! We love gathering here to cuddle with our favorite blue herringbone blanket by the fire (fireplace screen linked here) , burning a Christmas candle, and watching holiday movies. Those are my favorite nights! We even built the Home Alone lego house this year to display! One of my all time, any season coffee table centerpieces is a large glass vase of hydrangeas.  It doesn’t matter what season it is because they are my favorite and I think decorating with what you love is ultimately most important!

Touches of Holiday in the Bedroom

I couldn’t resist adding a few holiday touches to our bedroom to make it extra cozy. I added in a plaid throw for extra cool nights and of course a wreath with a pop of red ribbon!

There are three things I love most about holiday decorating:

Mixing collected decor from over the years with new, using clippings from the outdoors, and pops of traditional red!

Thanks for stopping by! You can shop more of my holiday decor here and read about holiday decorating with Cailini Coastal here.

Favorite Holiday Reads

Hi Everyone! It’s Sarah and I’m back with my latest book recommendations. My love for the holiday season runs deep and that extends to holiday-themed books.  As a kid, my mom always put out these large holiday storybooks that I would sit and read over and over each year.  I’ve rounded up some of my favorites below and a new one that is on my list to read this season. Hopefully, there are a few that are new to you as well!

The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss

When it comes to relationships, thirty-four-year-old Kate Turner is ready to say “Bah, humbug.” But then her best friend signs her up for a dating agency that promises to help singles find love before the holidays. Twenty-three days until Christmas. Twelve dates with twelve different men. The odds must finally be in her favor . . . right? Yet with each new date more disastrous than the one before–and the whole town keeping tabs on her misadventures–Kate must remind herself that sometimes love, like mistletoe, shows up where it’s least expected. And maybe, just maybe, it’s been right under her nose all along.

This was my favorite holiday read last season. Sign me up for spending the holidays in quaint British Blexford!

Winter Street Series by Elin Hildebrand

Kelley Quinn is the owner of Nantucket’s Winter Street Inn and the proud father of four, all of them grown and living in varying states of disarray. As Christmas approaches, Kelley is looking forward to getting the family together for some quality time at the inn. Before the mulled cider is gone, the delightfully dysfunctional Quinn family will survive a love triangle, an unplanned pregnancy, a federal crime, a small house fire, many shots of whiskey, and endless rounds of Christmas caroling, in this heart-warming novel about coming home for the holidays.

This series of four books was what got me interested in holiday reads. The Queen of the summer beach read takes us to Nantucket for the annual Santa Stroll event. Start with book 1: Winter Street.

Last Christmas in Paris by Hazel Gaynor and Heather Webb

An unforgettably romantic novel that spans four Christmases (1914-1918), Last Christmas in Paris explores the ruins of war, the strength of love, and the enduring hope of the Christmas season. August 1914. England is at war. As Evie Elliott watches her brother, Will, and his best friend, Thomas Harding, depart for the front, she believes—as everyone does—that it will be over by Christmas, when the trio plan to celebrate the holiday among the romantic cafes of Paris. But as history tells us, it all happened so differently.

This one is for all my fellow lovers of historical fiction. It’s definitely not a light holiday read but very heartwarming.

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…but not for Maelyn Jones. She’s living with her parents, hates her going-nowhere job, and has just made a romantic error of epic proportions. But perhaps worst of all, this is the last Christmas Mae will be at her favorite place in the world—the snowy Utah cabin where she and her family have spent every holiday since she was born. As she drives away, the next thing she knows, tires screech and metal collides, and everything goes black. But when Mae gasps awake…she’s on an airplane bound for Utah, where she begins the same holiday all over again. With one hilarious disaster after another sending her back to the plane, Mae must figure out how to break free of the strange time loop—and finally get her true love under the mistletoe.

Very cute and funny!

Duke, Actually by Jenny Holiday

A delightful contemporary Christmas romance, set in the heart of New York City, about a playboy baron and a woman who has said goodbye to love. There’s a royal wedding on, and things are about to get interesting.

My first holiday read of 2022! I’m halfway through this book and love it. While there are holiday elements to the story, it spans an entire year. This might be the perfect choice for those that don’t think they’re into holiday reads and want to dip their toe in.

Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory

Vivian Forest has been out of the country a grand total of one time, so when she gets the chance to tag along on her daughter Maddie’s work trip to England to style a royal family member, she can’t refuse. She’s excited to spend the holidays taking in the magnificent British sights, but what she doesn’t expect is to become instantly attracted to a certain private secretary, his charming accent, and unyielding formality.

I love all books by Jasmine Guillory and this is no exception! What I loved most about this book was that it features a romance between two middle-aged individuals instead of the typical 20 and 30-somethings in rom-coms.

The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans

Rick, Keri, and their 4-year-old daughter, Jenna, are hired as caretakers and are welcomed into the Victorian home of Mary Parkins, an elderly widow, just before the holiday season. As the relationship between Mary and the family develops we learn that Mary’s past sorrows are compelling her to share an important message with Richard. But will he understand her message in time? A heartwarming story of parental love, healing, and Christmas.

A holiday classic when we get too caught up in the season.

The Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan

When the department store she works in closes for good, Carmen has perilously little cash and few options. She doesn’t want to move in with her perfect sister Sofia, in Sofia’s perfect house with her perfect children and her perfectly ordered Edinburgh life. At Sofia’s behest, Carmen is thrown into the daily workings of old Mr. McCredie’s ancient bookshop on the streets of the old dark city. Can she use her design skills to revamp the store and bring it back to popularity in time to benefit from Christmas shopping traffic?

It’s not a holiday read list without a story set in a bookshop! This book will have you wanting to pack your bags to spend Christmas in Edinburgh!

Seven Days of Us by Francesca Hornak

It’s Christmas, and for the first time in years the entire Birch family will be under one roof. Even Emma and Andrew’s elder daughter—who is usually off saving the world—will be joining them at Weyfield Hall, their aging country estate. But Olivia, a doctor, is only coming home because she has to. Having just returned from treating an epidemic abroad, she’s been told she must stay in quarantine for a week…and so too should her family. In close proximity, not much can stay hidden for long, and as revelations and long-held tensions come to light, nothing is more shocking than the unexpected guest who’s about to arrive.

This is at the top of my list to read this season! I was hooked from “aging country estate.”

Turn on the Christmas lights, light a candle, and snuggle up under your favorite blanket with one (or all) of these holiday reads this season. I can’t wait to hear your favorites! Not into holiday reads? Check out my Fall Reading List post!

Holiday Decor with Cailini Coastal

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

I love the holiday season and the magic that happens when you suddenly fill your home with twinkle lights and holiday colors. This holiday season I am honored to be decorating our home with Cailini Coastal and their beautiful holiday decor. Cailini Coastal is one of my favorite home decor shops. Their holiday collection is stunning! Cailini Coastal’s shop is filled full of coastal inspired decor in beautiful shades of blues, rattans, and coastal traditional pieces.

I am beyond excited to share some of my favorite holiday decor pieces that I used to decorate my home this year. I love how all of the Cailini Coastal’s pieces added classic yet festive touches to our living space. I hope that this round up of beautiful holiday decor will help you prepare for the most magical time of the year!

I adore this chinoiserie nutcracker as it reminds me of childhood. Our children love it and now want to start a collection of nutcrackers.

The Shades of Blue Bottle Brush set looks festive just about anywhere but I love how they look tucked into our bookshelves with my blue and white decor.

I’m a big blue and white decor fan and the Grand Millenial Ornament set in blue and white looks stunning on our tree.  I added red ribbons for a festive and classic touch!

If you are looking for a fresh candle that you can burn beyond the holidays this RE”ME.DI.UM x Cailini Coastal candle bowl is incredible and the sound of the wood wicks give all the cozy feelings. I will be burning this well past the holidays.

Holiday houses are just magical so I loved the Candy Cane Lane house and how it looks beautiful displayed in our shelves. It adds just the right touch of sparkle and whimsy.

If you haven’t checked out my holiday decor shop you can do so here where you can find even more beautiful pieces from Cailini Coastal!

I also love mixing in every day decor items with my holiday decor. Simply adding greenery to this french blue dipped vase added instant holiday charm. This sweet Petal Frog Vase is another piece I use throughout all the seasons. It is perfect for roses and lends a touch of tradtional decor.

A big thank you to Cailini Coastal for helping us celebrate our most cherished season.

Our home in HGTV magazine

Photo: Kevin Miyazaki Styling: Jen Decleene

After sharing snippets here and there of our home on social media we were finally able to open the doors for a full home tour with HGTV magazine. This has been such an incredibly exciting month! As some of you know, we were featured in the October 2022 issue of HGTV Magazine. (You can read the full article here or pick up a copy at your local bookstore!)

About the shoot

This feature was almost a year in the making as our home was photographed last October! We had such a fun and talented crew on set and I really enjoyed getting to know them during our short time together. So much hard work goes into a full home photo shoot. When the crew arrived they had car loads of photography equipment and a van full of flowers and decor. It was such an exciting two days and I feel like I learned so much from these wonderful people when it comes to styling, photographing, and editing for an editorial publication. It was so cool getting to watch these talented individuals work their magic!

So thankful!

We were so honored to share our home, a place that has been so special to so many in Adam’s family. Our children are the 5th generation to live in this home and we want to preserve it so the next generation can enjoy it just as much! I personally have now lived in this home longer than any other home in my lifetime so it is an extra special place to me.  Adam proposed to me here, we brought all of our children home from the hospital to this house, and we have created so many wonderful memories. We have worked hard to make this farmhouse a home perfectly suited for our family of six.  has been such a whirlwind month since the issue came out and I still can’t quite believe that our farmhouse was featured. It’s my favorite place to be and I’m thrilled to share my labor of love with all of you. You can find our feature with additional images here or on newsstands now!

2022 Holiday Gift Guides

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

It seems like the end of the year is rapidly approaching and with that comes the panic of starting my holiday shopping. My goal this year is to get my shopping done as early as possible so I can focus on the fun parts of the holiday season. More time baking cookies and cuddling up on the couch watching movies and less time frantically searching for last-minute gifts. I’ve pulled together a list of my favorite items to create these gift guides for everyone from family to teachers to pets and more. One of my favorites on the list this year is those ‘just in case‘ gifts. I like to stock up on a few extra gifts for when I inevitably forget someone on my list or receive an unexpected gift. It’s always good to have a few items tucked away.

Happy shopping!

Our Bathroom Remodel

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

I am thrilled to share about the completion of our primary bathroom remodel, a project that has been in the works for quite some time. My vision for the space was to create a timeless oasis with a spa-like ambiance, complete with plush bath towels, ample storage, natural light, and a luxurious shower head. I wanted a place where I could unwind and rejuvenate in both a peaceful and beautiful setting.

Things To Keep In Mind

During the remodeling process of our older home, we encountered some structural issues that caused a delay in the project. Our contractor had to level the uneven floor and add more support for the heavy tile and bathtub. However, after two and a half weeks of structural work, we were able to proceed with the remodel. Our contractor was able to take the whole room down to the studs, allowing us to add more insulation and come up with a new floor plan that made more sense for us.

Fun Finishes

For the finishing touches, I chose a striking blue and white hydrangea wallpaper from Quadrille’s climbing collection, which added both energy and a timeless charm to the space. We also used polished nickel sconces and cane-detailed mirrors from  Shades of Light to create interest and give the bathroom a classic, coastal-inspired feel. We opted for a clean and crisp look with a white vanity and quartz countertop, complemented by polished nickel faucets .We kept it clean and crisp with a white vanity and quartz counter top and selected these .  Our contractor color matched all of our trim and crown moulding to match the vanity to keep things cohesive. I love mixing design elements for interest so I chose these timeless polished nickel sconces and these beautiful cane detailed mirrors.  I also feel like they give the bathroom a classic feel with a coastal inspired touch. Overall, we are extremely happy with how the remodel turned out!

I wanted a wow factor over the bathtub. I love it when you walk into a space and see a statement light. Therefore, I selected this beautiful handmade beaded Lily Chandelier from Ro Sham Beaux. It adds a little fun to a classic space, and the blue glass beads are just stunning.  I love the hemp wrapping for its added texture and the way the light highlights the beautiful bathing space.

Floor and Shower Tile

We had hardwoods in the bathroom initially. They were getting destroyed by all of the moisture and had water damage. We removed these completely, allowing us to add radiant heat underneath the tile. I highly recommend doing this! The heat coming through these tiles feels so good in the morning when I am getting ready for the day. I wanted a classic and clean look on the floor, so I partnered with Tiles Direct and selected their velvet white matte porcelain tile in 12×24 for the bathroom floor.

I chose the white penny rounds for our shower floor and the velvet white matte porcelain in 4×12 for the shower walls. We used white grout and added crown molding to the top of the tile for a finished look.  I selected polished nickel shower heads, and we added a rain shower head to the center of the shower.

Hardware

Cabinet hardware can really make or break a space.  It seems like such a minor detail but it really will set the tone of your space and give it some personality.  I partnered with Emtek to put the perfect finishing touches on our cabinetry and doors. I selected the 6″ freestone pulls in polished nickel for all of our drawers in the bathroom and our closet. I love how they look on the cabinetry.

I am so happy to have this project completed and look forward to enjoying this beautiful space on a daily basis. To see more of our home you can head here.

Our fall front porch

Every year I get so excited to decorate our front porch for the fall season. There is something extra special about fall on the farm.  The temps drop, the nights get a little longer, and we yearn to be cozy. This is one of our favorite spots to gather as a family and relax. Over the last couple of years we have added a lot of curb appeal to our front porch and you can read more about that here.

I love decorating our porch in a minimal way for the autumn season. I add in warmth with seasonal fall blooms like mums, cabbages, and asters.  Seasonal flowers are an easy way to add in fall colors without going overboard and of course pumpkins provide the perfect pop of orange.

Decorating my porch has become easy because I use the same blue and white ceramic planters each season and just change out what I plant in them.  I love these blue and white planters and think orange pumpkins give the perfect contrast of color. Mixing in brass lanterns with candles adds to the mood and a personalized doormat adds a personal touch.

We enjoy sitting on the porch for coffee on the weekend mornings and love to end the day watching the sunset from here while the kids play in the yard. This is one of my favorite parts of our farmhouse and we spend a lot of time here.

What’s On My Fall Reading List

While it’s hard to find time to read between working on my business and taking care of my family, it’s something I’m trying to make more time for. However, I know someone who is an avid reader and I asked her to write up a few recommendations for you all. Without further ado, meet Sarah!

Hi Everyone! I’m so excited to share a few Fall reads with you all. I help Maggie out behind the scenes with her business and I usually have my head behind a book several times a day. I love to share book recommendations with my mom, friends, and now all of you! I’ve rounded up a few books that are on my Fall read list. Some of them I’ve already read and some are on my must-read list. There are a few mysteries along with a bit of romance and one on a history of female relationships. A bit of something for everyone! When I’m back in Jacksonville, I love to pop into Our Town Books and pick up one or two books on my list.

Verity by Colleen Hoover

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish. Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of the night their family was forever altered.

I read this one last Fall and the ending had me hooked on Colleen Hoover!

The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine

Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne—a socialite and philanthropist—and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.

Amber’s envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn’t have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces.

Confession, I listened to this on Audible instead of actually reading it.

Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty

The Delaney family love one another dearly – it’s just that sometimes they want to murder each other….

If your mother was missing, would you tell the police? Even if the most obvious suspect was your father? This is the dilemma facing the four grown Delaney siblings. The Delaneys are fixtures in their community. The parents, Stan and Joy, are the envy of all of their friends. They’re killers on the tennis court, and off it their chemistry is palpable. But after 50 years of marriage, they’ve finally sold their famed tennis academy and are ready to start what should be the golden years of their lives. So why are Stan and Joy so miserable?

One night a stranger named Savannah knocks on Stan and Joy’s door, bleeding after a fight with her boyfriend. The Delaneys are more than happy to give her the small kindness she sorely needs. If only that was all she wanted. Later, when Joy goes missing, and Savannah is nowhere to be found, the police question the one person who remains: Stan. But for someone who claims to be innocent, he, like many spouses, seems to have a lot to hide. Two of the Delaney children think their father is innocent, two are not so sure – but as the two sides square off against each other in perhaps their biggest match ever, all of the Delaneys will start to reexamine their shared family history in a very new light.

The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager

Casey Fletcher, a recently widowed actress trying to escape a streak of bad press, has retreated to the peace and quiet of her family’s lake house in Vermont. Armed with a pair of binoculars and several bottles of bourbon, she passes the time watching Tom and Katherine Royce, the glamorous couple living in the house across the lake. They make for good viewing—a tech innovator, Tom is powerful; and a former model, Katherine is gorgeous.

One day on the lake, Casey saves Katherine from drowning, and the two strike up a budding friendship. But the more they get to know each other—and the longer Casey watches—it becomes clear that Katherine and Tom’s marriage isn’t as perfect as it appears. When Katherine suddenly vanishes, Casey immediately suspects Tom of foul play. What she doesn’t realize is that there’s more to the story than meets the eye—and that shocking secrets can lurk beneath the most placid of surfaces.

Text Me When You Get Home by Kayleen Schaefer

For too long, women have been told that we are terrible at being friends, that we can’t help being cruel or competitive, or that we inevitably abandon each other for romantic partners. But we are rejecting those stereotypes and reclaiming the power of female friendship.

Journalist Kayleen Schaefer interviews more than 100 women about their BFFs, soul mates, girl gangs, and queens while tracing this cultural shift through the lens of pop culture. Our love for each other is reflected in Abbi and Ilana, Issa and Molly, #squadgoals, the acclaim of Girls Trip and Big Little Lies, and Galentine’s Day. Schaefer also includes her own history of grappling with a world that told her to rely on men before she realized that her true source of support came from a strong tribe of women. Her personal narrative and celebration of her own relationships weaves throughout the evolution of female friendship on-screen, a serious look at how women have come to value one another and our relationships.

Absolutely loved this book and had already cried a bit by page 3…

The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff

One morning while passing through Grand Central Terminal on her way to work, Grace Healey finds an abandoned suitcase tucked beneath a bench. Unable to resist her own curiosity, Grace opens the suitcase, where she discovers a dozen photographs – each of a different woman. In a moment of impulse, Grace takes the photographs and quickly leaves the station.

Grace soon learns that the suitcase belonged to a woman named Eleanor Trigg, leader of a network of female secret agents who were deployed out of London during the war. Twelve of these women were sent to Occupied Europe as couriers and radio operators to aid the resistance, but they never returned home, their fates a mystery. Setting out to learn the truth behind the women in the photographs, Grace finds herself drawn to a young mother turned agent named Marie, whose daring mission overseas reveals a remarkable story of friendship, valor, and betrayal.

For all my historical fiction lovers out there, this one is top notch.

The Maid by Nita Prose

Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Her gran used to interpret the world for her, codifying it into simple rules that Molly could live by. Since Gran died a few months ago, twenty-five-year-old Molly has been navigating life’s complexities all by herself. No matter—she throws herself with gusto into her work as a hotel maid. Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job. She delights in donning her crisp uniform each morning, stocking her cart with miniature soaps and bottles, and returning guest rooms at the Regency Grand Hotel to a state of perfection.

But Molly’s orderly life is upended the day she enters the suite of the infamous and wealthy Charles Black, only to find it in a state of disarray and Mr. Black himself dead in his bed. Before she knows what’s happening, Molly’s unusual demeanor has the police targeting her as their lead suspect. She quickly finds herself caught in a web of deception, one she has no idea how to untangle. Fortunately for Molly, friends she never knew she had unite with her in a search for clues to what really happened to Mr. Black—but will they be able to find the real killer before it’s too late?

The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany by Lori Nelson Spielman

Since the day Filomena Fontana cast a curse upon her sister more than 200 years ago, not one second-born Fontana daughter has found lasting love. Some, like second-born Emilia, the happily single baker at her grandfather’s Brooklyn deli, claim it’s an odd coincidence. Others, like her sexy, desperate-for-love cousin Lucy, insist it’s a true hex. But both are bewildered when their great-aunt calls with an astounding proposition: If they accompany her to her homeland of Italy, Aunt Poppy vows she’ll meet the love of her life on the steps of the Ravello Cathedral on her 80th birthday and break the Fontana Second-Daughter Curse once and for all.

Against the backdrop of wandering Venetian canals, rolling Tuscan fields, and enchanting Amalfi Coast villages, romance blooms, destinies are found, and family secrets are unearthed – secrets that could threaten the family far more than a centuries-old curse.

This is like a lovely rom com that transports you to Italy.

While I can and will read any place and at anytime, I like to create an extra cozy scene for myself at home. I like to wrap-up in a blanket like this plaid throw blanket or this faux cashmere one and prop my feet up. To feel extra luxurious, I like to put on a pair of undereye patches and a lip mask to treat myself. (I also like to treat myself to either a glass of wine and popcorn or a cup of herbal tea and chocolate depending on how the day went). Then I light one of my favorite fall candles: Nest’s Autumn plum and pumpkin chai are in heavy rotation these days.

I’m looking forward to cozying up with one of these books very soon-I just have to pick which one. I hope you find one of your new favorites in this list! Speaking of lists, I love to use the Soon app to keep organized. I have friends that use Goodreads to keep their book list but I love that with Soon you can keep a list for books, movies, tv shows, podcasts, etc.

Happy reading!
