Simple Ways to Refresh Your Home for Spring

Spring has finally arrived, and it is one of my favorite seasons! It is a time of renewal, with warmer temperatures and more opportunities to spend time outside. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of fresh sheets, open windows, blooming flowers, and the sweet fragrance of lilac in the air on a spring day. Today I wanted to share some simple ways to refresh your home for spring.

It’s the Perfect Time to Update Your Linens

There is nothing like a new crisp set of sheets. Refreshing your sheets is a simple luxury that can transform your sleeping experience. The feeling of sliding into bed with freshly laundered sheets is pure bliss. I have two favorite sets of sheets. I am a long-time fan of the Lands End Non-Iron Supima Cotton sheets and have suggested these to my clients over the years.  They are often on sale too!  I recently got a set of Cariloha’s Bamboo Retreat Sheets, which are also incredible. You can also use code MAGGIE30 for 30% off sitewide.

This is also an excellent time for a bath towel update.  I have always been a big fan of these piped-edge bath towels.  You can personalize them to match your bathroom, too!

Update Your Throw Pillows

Updating your throw pillows is a simple yet impactful way to give your living spaces a new look. By changing the throw pillows or pillow covers in your space, you can introduce new colors, patterns, and textures that rejuvenate the room’s overall aesthetic. This is one of the easiest ways to change your decor seasonally; keeping your home current and inviting.

Little Details Matter

Another simple way to refresh your home for spring is by adding little details like fresh flowers and candles to enhance your mood and space. With the change of each season, I always purchcase new candles. I love the scent of lilac and the nostalgia it brings. This lilac candle is one of my favorites to light in my kitchen with the windows open and the sun shining in as I prep dinner with a good playlist. I love refreshing my kitchen towels, throw blankets, and other small home accessories at this time as well.

Reset Your Most Used Spaces

We often become accustomed to our most frequently used spaces at home being disorganized. It’s always a good idea to declutter and organize your space seasonally. You can start by removing broken items and donating things you no longer need or use. Once you’ve cleared out the unnecessary items, you can reorganize the remaining ones with the help of baskets and bins. This will create more space and make it easier for you to find the things you need quickly. I used these floating shelves to help organize many of my vases and baskets in our mudroom.

Tidy Up Your Outdoor Spaces

Being outdoors is one of my favorite parts of the spring/summer season. I love dining or just sitting outside when the weather permits. We always take a weekend to clean up our outdoor spaces so we can enjoy them. We love this dining table on our patio at Cove Hollow House. Whenever we want to dine outdoors, we throw this tablecloth on it and always bring out these lamps for a little evening glow. You can find more sources from our Cove Hollow House in Watercolor, FL. here.

That’s it! Those are my simple tips for refreshing your home for spring. If you’re looking for more home organization and ideas for a refresh, be sure to read these posts:
