Picture sconces are not only a beautiful design detail but they illuminate a piece of art in such a pretty way. I love showcasing my artwork with picture sconces and this caned picture light sconce in the photo above is a beautiful piece of art in itself! I love adding texture into my spaces so I knew this picture light would be perfect above one of my favorite pieces of art!
When hanging a picture light over a piece of art the goal is to spread the light evenly on the artwork and to avoid a hot spot or glare. I hung my picture sconce five inches off the top of my art work and tilted the head of the light 30 degrees so it will disperse an even amount of light onto the art and minimizing the glare. I always prefer to select LED bulbs for picture lights because they do not emit ultraviolet light and very low heat which can potentially cause damage to your art over time. Most picture lights require to be hardwired but there are some battery operated options available these days!
I love the intimate glow that picture sconces create, making you want to really come in for a closer look. They also create a thoughtful moment and add personality to any space.

This year I am getting a head start with Easter goodies for our little ones. Our children love waking up to a special basket filled with play things and candy before they go on their egg hunt. The entertaining season is in full swing and we entertain in our home quite often around the holidays. There is nothing I love more than sitting around a beautifully decorated table with family and friends and enjoying a meal together. I really believe a beautifully set table will set the tone for your meal and it also makes your guests feel extra special! I knew this season I wanted to use some of the beautiful tabletop items from Serena and Lily on my holiday table.
When I was selecting tabletop items from Serena and Lily I wanted to choose items that would be neutral enough for any time of the year. I chose neutral placemats and linen napkins for this reason. I knew that I could use these items any time of the year and would select a fun tablecloth from my linen closet for a pop of color. We set the table every evening for dinner, sometimes the island too! So I selected the round Catalonia Placemats in natural from Serena and Lily to layer over the tablecloth. I layered my dishes on top of the placemats to create some dimension on the the table surface. I love to layer and I also love clippings from the yard so I snipped some holly berry leaves to place on top of the Salento Napkins (in flax) for a little pop of festive color! I added in brass flatware and of course champagne!
There are so many other beautiful tabletop items from Serena and Lily, that I love to use when entertaining. The Cayman Seagrass Wrapped Pitcher is perfect for lemonade, iced tea, or water. I use this pitcher quite often as a vase for flowers! I also love using the Poetta Vase as a larger vase for big bouquet of hydrangeas or greenery. A marble lazy susan like the Millerton Lazy Susan is the perfect foundation for the center of your table, especially if it is round. I love having a lazy susan on our table, especially one this beautiful!
If you choose not to use a tablecloth the table runners are a gorgeous option and a good way to add some texture to your tabletop. I also love adding in candlelight and the carmel rattan taper holder would make a beautiful addition to any table, especially with colored taper Candles. I love the avocado color for Christmas! If you are looking to add a little fun to your tabletop I would recommend the Holiday Crackers! Our kids love these at any celebration or party!

It’s crazy to think that the Holidays are just around the corner! But I’m really looking forward to having family over for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. After these last couple of years, I’ve learned that it’s so important to appreciate the time you get to spend with loved ones. So, as I prepare for the holidays, I’m getting ready to host my own holiday dinners for the people in my life by gathering decor, linens, and my favorite dinnerware and utensils to set the table.

It’s the perfect time to start purchasing items that will help you transition your wardrobe to be winter ready. Long-sleeved turtlenecks, like this cocoa Dudley Stephens shirt or this brown-striped turtleneck, are comfortable and chic. They also make the perfect layering pieces as the days continue getting colder. A good button down cardigan is another great option to add layers to your fall fits.
When it comes to items for your home, this miramar fringed chair and this yarmouth rattan swivel chair are two of my most favorite finds which are sure to add a touch of elegant texture to your space. Pair them with this wicker seadrift side table to bring in a little extra warmth and even more texture.
This cream francie rug is made by hand and would be a gorgeous addition if you’re needing to update the rugs in your home. I also love this hillsborough hand-knotted rug, which is perfect for an outdoor porch or an indoor room needing a little extra spice. I have the hillsborough rug as a runner in my kitchen, and it’s very durable and adds character to my kitchen. Our son Henry’s bedroom was ready for an update! As he enters into his pre-teen years, I felt like he needed a more grown-up space that he can grow into and that would reflect his personality. My goal was to create a bedroom that felt masculine, yet relaxed and comfortable. Since I love classic and traditional interiors with a fresh approach, I worked with Serena and Lily to create the perfect room for him!
We had recently purchased this headboard for him from Serena and Lily, but he lacked nightstands and his room just didn’t feel complete. When looking for the perfect nightstands to fill his space, I wanted to bring in more texture and warmer tones to set his room apart from his little brother’s. So, when I saw the balboa nightstands from Serena and Lily I knew they would be the perfect fit for Henry’s room. The rattan adds texture and dimension and really warms up the space. I also loved that he would have a drawer to hold his personal belongings as well as a shelf below to stack books and other items. The top of the nightstands also provides ample space for lighting , a glass of water, or other necessary items.
As much as I love blue and white, I chose to bring in warmer tones to give Henry’s updated room a more masculine and grown-up feel and I wanted to set his room apart from his younger brother’s space. I fell in love with the Hyannis Duvet Cover and matching euro shams, and selected them in the Mink color. The traditional gingham looks great against the headboard and grasscloth wallpaper on his walls (similar paper here) creating a classic look.
We had previously purchased this Montara mirror from Serena and Lily, so, to add my finishing touch, I hung it above his desk creating a clean and timeless space for studying.
I love working with Serena and Lily because the quality of their products lasts a lifetime. Halloween is one of mine (and my kid’s) favorite times of the year to have some fun! While we gear up for chillier weather and trick or treating, the adults are stocking the bar and the children are setting up Halloween decorations. It’s time to revel in the autumn air and enjoy the sweater weather before winter hits.

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year! I especially love the month of October when the crisp autumn air begins to settle in as we officially start to transition from those hot summer days. To help inspire your transition into fall, I’ve gathered a list of some of my current favorite fall finds.
