I got sucked down the Amazon fashion hole the other day. I found so many good buys under $50 and thought I had to share with you. All staples and classic pieces at amazing price points. These joggers come in many colors and so does the classic leather tote! The daily ritual tees are some of my all time favorites too because they are incredible soft! Enjoy!

I love a beach hat. Probably because my mom has always been notorious for wearing one. She has a beautiful collection of straw hats that she has picked up during her travels to Europe and the south. My bedroom wall needed art work but instead I decided a hat wall would be perfect for the empty space above my bed. We wear the hats and simply replace them when the beach day is done. Here is how I created my hat wall in 3 easy steps.
Collect your straw hats and create your layout depending on the amount of hats you are going to use. You can either wing it or create a layout on the floor. I had 5 hats to use on my wall so I created a staggered effect. If you only have 3 hats you could do three in a row. If you have more than 5 you can play with the layout however you prefer.
I used nails to hang my hats but you could also use hooks. I did not want any hardware showing so I opted for something discreet like a nail. I simply hammered the nail into the wall where I was going to hang each hat. Making sure there is plenty of space for each hat to lay out fully and not be crowded.
Hang your hats. You may have to play with the arrangement if it involves different colors or textures. Just see what looks best to the eye!

Here lately I have discovered If I really stick to my nighttime routine I will sleep. Right now I can only imagine how many people are not sleeping well because they are worried or not as active as normal. Just the change in routine can really mess with our sleep. There is nothing better than climbing into a bed with clean sheets, cozy pajamas, and a cup of nighttime tea. I also love white noise while I sleep. I use a loud fan and it is amazing. Below I included my bedtime favorites. I drink the tea about 30 min. before I go to sleep, plug in my fan, I put the Organica Dream lotion on my feet, throw on my sleep mask and get cozy.

Styling your coffee table is an easy way to add instant personality and thought to your living space. There are many ways to style your coffee table depending on the shape. Today I am going to talk about styling a square table surface!
Create Sections. Since I am working with a square table here I divided my table into 4 sections.
Place a large vase with flowers or stems to create a focal point in one zone. I also like how this adds height to the table!
Stack coffee table books. Put some of your favorites out that show your personality or interests. There are so many beautiful options. Click here for my post on coffee table books!
Create Layers with trays, books, bowls, and boxes.
Use a pretty wooden bowl or woven box as a catch all or a place to stash remotes!

Another Friday has come so quickly. The days are long but the weeks feel like they are flying by.
I have been editing my home ruthlessly. Working hard to lighten and brighten and make it feel like the only place I want to be, well because it’s the only place I can be right now. I probably could have one heck of a sale soon. Our storage unit is filling up quickly.

Chickpea Powered Couscous
I have an obsession with this meal. I make it on repeat and it is just as good cold out of the fridge the next day! Make sure you get the pearl couscous. You can make so many different variations of this as well.
Right now pretty accessories are making my basic white tee and jeans wardrobe feel a little extra special. I don’t feel like shopping for clothes right now. So weird for me, I know… but accessories I can get behind shopping for. Especially a pair of statement earrings.

Bubble Baths
I’ve been enjoying a good bubble bath lately in the evening before bed. It’s becoming part of my night time routine and helps me sleep better. My baths always include:
a glass of wine

Happy Friday. It has been a busy and productive week. We had a little glimmer of sunshine and warmth and I was able to get so much done in the yard which felt amazing. I love working in the yard all day and then coming in for a hot shower and glass of wine. It feels so good to rest your head at night knowing how much you have accomplished.
I have also been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately. Here are my kitchen essentials. I try to keep my kitchen aesthetic clean and neutral. The gold touch pans are my favorite. Make sure you get the non corrugated. Also my favorite crockpot is currently on sale. I have been using it a ton lately! The marble tray is great to put next to your sink to hold your favorite hand soap and scrubber.

Garden season
I think my garden and greenhouse will be my saving grace this spring. I am so excited that Brooke and Lou is launching a garden line next week. I can only imagine all of the beautiful garden pieces they will have!
There has never been a better time for comfortable clothes. I’m loving a cozy sweatshirt to throw on with shorts, jeans, or leggings right now.

Pizza toast
This recipe has been a hit lately with my kids. Super easy and you probably have the ingredients already at home! Even better they can have fun building them by themselves!

I love collecting coffee table books. They are great resources and I find them beautiful and interesting to add to your surfaces. I love layering them in bookshelves and on coffee tables. I also find it beautiful to open one up to a favorite page and lay it on open on your surface with a magnifying glass or paper weight. I have more than my fair share of coffee table books around my home and I get many questions on which are some of my favorites. So I have gathered together some to share with you.

Happy Friday Friends. We are settling into our new normal. Loosey goosey routines, lots of outdoor time, kids in jammies all day, family dinners, later bedtimes, sleeping in, lots of DIY projects. In all honesty I needed this time. As long as we all stay healthy, this time is appreciated.

Firepit project
Wells turns 4 next week and all that sweet little child wants to do is have a campfire on his birthday. He wants to roast hotdogs and s’mores and I honestly have been looking for a reason to create a fire pit situation somewhere in our yard. With the help of my friend Amazon I was able to order what I needed and will be working to achieve something like this photo this week!

Garden
My love for potted boxwoods is strong. These images have me wanting to grow boxwoods in terra cotta pots and topiaries. A topiary farm in the greenhouse might be a good idea?
Iced Latte at home
I have been making my own iced lattes at home and I have to say I think I have gotten it down exactly how I like it. It took a few tries and adjustments but here is the recipe I used to make my own. I don’t froth the milk for mine, I just pour it all over ice! I also use almond milk instead of milk!

I think we are all ready for nights on the patio, drink in hand, food on the grill, music playing. I love entertaining al fresco. Especially on the farm. I love throwing a pretty tablecloth on and running out to the backyard to cut fresh hydrangeas, throwing them in a vase to set the table. Add some twinkle or cafe lights to make it even more magical. Kids running barefoot through the yard. It becomes one of those moments where you become overwhelmed with happiness and that is a moment I think we could all use right now.
So I have gathered some beautiful items to help create a magical patio situation.

Another week. Another Friday. Friday’s don’t seem that different than any other day at this point but thats ok. Im thankful that our big decisions to make are where the takeout comes from or what bottle of wine to open. Some day things will be back to normal but I truly hope that we have a new kind of normal. One filled with kindness and love.
Spring/Summer wardrobes are my favorite. They are filled with color, personality, and happiness.
Here are some of my favorite current spring finds.

Aesthetics
My sister and I always dream up small businesses for our cute little town. We both agree that along with usability, aesthetics are so important. The aesthetics definitely create an experience for the consumer and makes them want to stay and play. I love the simplicity yet clean lines of both shops below. Someday I hope to get my hands on a brick and mortar of my own.

Bookshelves
This week on stories I talked a little about bookshelf styling. I hope to do a more formal video for you all soon! In the meantime here are a few tips of what to use when styling shelves!
Baskets for storage: tuck away things you need in arms reach but not out for everyone to see!
Stack coffee table books horizontally and layer them with interesting objects!
Mix different materials and metals on your shelves to keep it interesting.
Add texture to give dimension. You can do this with textured vases, rattan, woven baskets, etc…

Patio Dreaming
I am having dreams of late afternoons and evenings on the patio. Trees full of leaves, green grass, and flowering bushes all around. This gorgeous patio stopped me in my tracks. The details of the pergola, the haint blue ceiling, and of course those chairs!

I have to say I thought March was gonna be the best month ever. We got home from vacation, felt refreshed, spring was coming… boy was I ever fooled. March has been the toughest month ever for everyone. This is a time I am so thankful for my wonderful clients who have not bailed on me, for the home I live in, for the grocery delivery, for my husband who works tireless hours to keep us in this house with grocery delivery, and for my sweet babies. I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for my family’s health and I am praying endlessly for those who are sick and not as fortunate.
I think we have to look at the silver lining of being stuck at home and take this as a moment to rest and reset. A time to do yoga in the living room, read books, watch movies, a time to needlepoint. A time to choose a favorite cookbook and cook your way through it. A time to start garden seeds, a time to mulch the yard, take bubble baths, and a time to pray.
I had a lot of recipe requests for this Italian Chicken Noodle Soup I made the other night. This is honestly one of the best soups I have ever made and will continue to make it again and again. Here is the recipe!
Other than school work I have been looking for extra activities to keep the kids busy and engaged, especially with the yucky weather we have been having. We have had a lot of fun with magna tiles and play doh. I basically put all the magna tiles out on the table and let their little imaginations do the rest. They have built all sorts of interesting things this week! We have also had “movie day” each afternoon. They each get a bowl of boom chicka pop and I play the old classics. They have loved Night at the Museum and The Sandlot.
kids activities
The kids and I plan to spend even more time in the greenhouse. I think we will take this opportunity to get things ready for spring, start seeds, start our planters and fill them with flowers, and enjoy the warmth and sunshine in the greenhouse. We all could use a little vitamin D right about now. I just ordered these planters and I am excited to fill them and let them take off in the greenhouse before I move them to my porch. I will be doing a espalier grid tutorial soon too so keep your eyes out for that!
5 Easy and inexpensive ways to freshen up your kitchen

Sometimes a simple refresh is all we need to make our spaces feel new again. Since we are all spending a lot more time at home I thought I would share with you 5 quick and inexpensive ways to freshen up your command center: The Kitchen. It is the heart of the home, the hub, the homework center, the snack counter, home of the happy hour, and most importantly the place where we feed those we love. It gets a lot of wear and tear and probably becomes easily cluttered with toys, sippy cups, and things your sweet family members leave on the counter and never put away. In five simple steps we are going to take back our command center and make it our happy place once again!
Clear your counters! Remove everything that doesn’t belong and wipe them down.
Put a vase of fresh flowers or herbs on the counter. It will instantly lighten the mood and I promise they will make you feel happy every time you walk in.
Light a good candle. One of my favorite 5 pm rituals is lighting a candle, pouring a glass of wine, and preparing dinner.
Put a bowl of seasonal produce out. Whatever is in season: apples, lemons, limes, oranges, artichokes. Choose an interesting bowl and fill!
Drape a pretty hand towel over the sink and finish off with a pretty hand soap.
That’s it! So easy and simple and your kitchen will feel so fresh and new! I will link some of my favorites below! Happy kitchen refreshing!
