This month has been all about feeling good, getting my house in shape, and feeling organized. We started January out with a lovely getaway to Naples, FL. It was time to reset after the holiday crazies and the flu passing through our house. Basically we spent our time sitting by the pool and going out to yummy dinners. I snapped a pic of these white houses on my trip and you all went crazy over them! They are stunning and just the perfect white beach houses. And that door…
This chilly weather makes me want to put on my coziest sweater and make soup. Here is one of my favorites that the whole family loves. Don’t skip the grilled cheese croutons! They make it!
I’m in need of new shoes and I have had my eyes on these for quite a while now. They are just beautiful.
Did you catch my tips on keeping a tidy desk? If you missed it you can read it here.
I also loved reading this article on grand millennials. I think I possibly fall into this category. Floral wallpaper, rattan and wicker, bouillon fringe, needlepoint. Find out if you are a grand millennial here.

If my mama taught me one thing it was how to make my bed. Did you know that people who make their bed in the morning feel more accomplished throughout the day? Regardless I know I feel a lot better if I walk into my bedroom and see my bed made. Today I am sharing some tips with you on how to make the perfect bed!
1: While there are many aspects to keep in mind when creating your dream bed, one of the best tips I can give you regarding your bedding: Buy the best you can afford. You won’t regret it.
2: Always start with a mattress pad and then layer on a fitted sheet. The top sheet goes on next and needs to be facing the mattress. ( as a child I never understood why we put that on “upside down”, now I do).
3: Hospital Corners! Another wonderful trick my mom taught me when I was a child was how to make a hospital corner. Tuck the bottom of your top sheet in, pull the excess out to the side. Lift the excess up and on top of the mattress. then take your finger and run an imaginary 45 degree angle with a flat fall and tuck it in! Here is a link for a visual. This will help keep you tucked in and help your sheets stay in place. It drives me crazy when the bottom becomes loose because it wasn’t properly tucked in!
4: A matelasse or a quilt helps transition from season to season but also creates interest and a layer so I like to lay that flat on the bed next and repeat my hospital corners with this.
5: Create layers with a duvet! I personally love a duvet! There is nothing like a soft linen duvet cover and I love to fold this up at the foot of the bed for an extra layer of coziness. There are many seasonal weighted inserts available now so if you are a hot sleeper never fear, there are options for you!
6: Bed pillows can be stacked on top of each other or stack them sitting up with one in front of the other. This is your preference!
7: Then of course I love to finish the bed off with Euro Size shams and a decorative pillow. If you have a king size bed I would recommend 3 Euro Shams and for a queen size bed I would recommend 2 euro shams! A lumbar pillow in a fun print is always a nice finishing touch to run across the front of your Euro Shams.
8. Last but not least, wash your sheets once a week to keep them looking crisp and white and repeat all the steps above on the daily! I’m sharing some of my bedding basics below for you!

Did you know today is National Clean Your Desk Day? I find it very appropriate to fall in the first few weeks of the new year! Keeping a clean workspace is important for so many reasons! It helps aid in creativity and productivity. We are our most creative when we are able to get down to business without further distractions. It is also good for your mental health and stress levels to keep the clutter at bay. Let’s face it, nobody wants to arrive at their desk and have to clean it before they are able to get to work each morning. I’m sharing with you some of my favorite clean desk accessories to help make your space feel more productive and of course, beautiful.

I love filling stockings. There is something fun about filling up a small space with someones favorite items or cool new gadgets. Sometimes they are silly items and sometimes they are useful (hello socks!). I love to keep prices low but always throw in a gift card or a bottle of their fav. tequilla or scotch to make it extra special.

Our master bath has been in need of a little love. Nothing major but a good refresh to give new life to a space that had begun to show some age. Believe it or not, our home does get a little neglected at times. Busy schedules, kiddos, and long work days definitely keep me from working on my own home. It was time for a change and I was able to do this by simply pulling in some new decor items.
I am so excited that I was able to partner with Brooke and Lou to help freshen up this space! Created by Interior Designer Bria Hammel, Brooke and Lou has a collection of timeless and classic pieces that would work in any home and with any style. Not to mention they also have beautiful Holiday Decor collection right now! (I purchased these gorgeous emerald green ornaments for our tree last year). If you haven’t checked out their site already, I highly suggest you do but be prepared to stay awhile!
A mood board created for our bathroom refresh
I created a mood board for the space when I started planning. I wanted the bathroom to feel bright and fresh so I painted the walls Sherwin Williams Pure White and added in two new mirrors. I knew that I needed something next to the bathtub to hold towels, bath salts, and apothecary. I fell in love with this bar cart and felt that it was not only functional but could be beautifully styled. I instantly imagined a piece of art from Brooke and Lou hanging above. I have been eyeing the Border Stripe Art in camel and I am always loving tans and neutrals and this piece grabbed my attention for that reason (also stripes…).
I always have a candle burning and the hobnail glass candle ambergris smells heavenly and is in a gorgeous shade of blue. I layered the candle, a vase, and my favorite perfume on a marble tray to give it a space of it’s own. The Gold Leaf Statue from Brooke and Lou is one of my favorite pieces. It is such a stunning sculpture of gold leaf and marble and would also look beautiful styled on any coffee table or bookshelf. It was the perfect finishing touch!
These were simple updates that I was able to accomplish in one weekend and I love the fresh, collected feel of this space!
Thank you Brooke and Lou for partnering on this post.

Happy Friday friends! Can you believe the weekend is already here! November is going so fast already!
Once again rounding up my five favorites from the past week! Earlier this week I returned home from a girl’s weekend to Nashville. I went with my mother, sister, cousins, aunts, and sister in law to celebrate my sister’s birthday! We had such a great time and found inspiration in so many places. I especially loved Amelia’s Flower Truck as I have always dreamed of a flower truck in our town square.
Favorite new sweater right here, loving all the pom poms right now
We have had this candle burning in our kitchen for the last week and I think it it truly one of the best holiday candles ever.
I am in love with everything Pure Salt Interiors creates, this looks like the perfect master bath situation
I hope your weekend is filled with relaxation before all of the Holiday busy begins! Put your feet up, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the ones you love!
