Setting Your Dinner Table for the Holidays

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

It’s crazy to think that the Holidays are just around the corner! But I’m really looking forward to having family over for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. After these last couple of years, I’ve learned that it’s so important to appreciate the time you get to spend with loved ones. So, as I prepare for the holidays, I’m getting ready to host my own holiday dinners for the people in my life by gathering decor, linens, and my favorite dinnerware and utensils to set the table.

To help get you started with your prepping, this blue Jasmine tablecloth is a beautiful hand-blocked Indian design that works for both holidays. And make sure to add some of your favorite decor to dress up your table. One of my favorites is this island wrapped hurricane which I love using as a vase to hold fresh flowers or greens clipped from my yard.

Finding good, tapered candles can help make your dining room warm and inviting. These hand-dipped candles are dripless and long lasting, and these sage green rustic candles are perfect for setting a calm and cozy mood in the dining room.

Next, place your mats and eating utensils on the table. I love using neutral-colored placemats because they go with just about everything. This handwoven Catalonia placemat is the perfect piece to add beautiful texture to your table. Top them with these bamboo dinner plates paired with this set of bold brass flatware or this bamboo flatware set.

These embroidered floral block print napkins are great for using on special occasions or use these Salento linen napkins to give your dinner table a crisp and clean feel. Set a beautiful champagne glass, like this optical gold vietri champagne glass, next to your flatware to finalize your dinner table setup. This set of 4 everyday wine glasses is a great option if you’re needing to stock up for a big get-together.

Lastly, add your dinner essentials when everyone’s ready to gather at the table. Use these wicker salt and pepper shakers to add a little extra flavor to both your dishes and decor. And chill your favorite glass of wine or champagne in this gorgeous ginger jar champagne bucket.

Bring in the bar cart as you entertain your dinner guests, and enjoy those moments you get to spend connecting with the people you care about. Take this holiday season as slowly as you can because it’ll pass by you just as fast as it arrived.

Friday Favorites | Fall Finds

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

Happy Friday, Friends! As we officially settle into the fall season, I continue to be inspired by all of the beautiful fashion and home decor. For this Friday, I’ve gathered a list of some of my most recent favorite fall finds to share with you!

It’s the perfect time to start purchasing items that will help you transition your wardrobe to be winter ready. Long-sleeved turtlenecks, like this cocoa Dudley Stephens shirt or this brown-striped turtleneck, are comfortable and chic. They also make the perfect layering pieces as the days continue getting colder. A good button down cardigan is another great option to add layers to your fall fits.

Dress up a pair of denim pants with this floral print blouse, layer it with this super soft v-neck rib-knit sweater vest, and pair your outfit with these leather margaret mules, and you’ll be ready for a day running errands, a get-together with friends, or working from home. You can keep yourself extra warm with this camel marant shirt jacket which is a great neutral item that goes with just about anything in your wardrobe.

When it comes to items for your home, this miramar fringed chair and this yarmouth rattan swivel chair are two of my most favorite finds which are sure to add a touch of elegant texture to your space. Pair them with this wicker seadrift side table to bring in a little extra warmth and even more texture.

This cream francie rug is made by hand and would be a gorgeous addition if you’re needing to update the rugs in your home. I also love this hillsborough hand-knotted rug, which is perfect for an outdoor porch or an indoor room needing a little extra spice. I have the hillsborough rug as a runner in my kitchen, and it’s very durable and adds character to my kitchen. This scalloped blue jute rug is another beautiful piece to use as an entrance mat at your front door.

Another one of my favorite finds for the kitchen is this 12-piece bamboo melamine dinnerware set. The bamboo rim adds an elevated look to this set, and they’re perfect for both indoor and outdoor dining. I also love these island wrapped stemless wine glasses which add a bohemian vibe to morning mimosas or afternoon teas.

I love immersing myself in the fall season and I always find such great inspiration for both my home and my wardrobe during this time of year. If you need more inspiration this fall, check out more of my Fall Favorites as well as my Fall Bar Cart blog post.

Henry’s bedroom updates with Serena and Lily

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

Our son Henry’s bedroom was ready for an update! As he enters into his pre-teen years, I felt like he needed a more grown-up space that he can grow into and that would reflect his personality. My goal was to create a bedroom that felt masculine, yet relaxed and comfortable. Since I love classic and traditional interiors with a fresh approach, I worked with Serena and Lily to create the perfect room for him!

We had recently purchased this headboard for him from Serena and Lily, but he lacked nightstands and his room just didn’t feel complete. When looking for the perfect nightstands to fill his space, I wanted to bring in more texture and warmer tones to set his room apart from his little brother’s. So, when I saw the balboa nightstands from Serena and Lily I knew they would be the perfect fit for Henry’s room. The rattan adds texture and dimension and really warms up the space. I also loved that he would have a drawer to hold his personal belongings as well as a shelf below to stack books and other items. The top of the nightstands also provides ample space for lighting , a glass of water, or other necessary items.

As much as I love blue and white, I chose to bring in warmer tones to give Henry’s updated room a more masculine and grown-up feel and I wanted to set his room apart from his younger brother’s space. I fell in love with the Hyannis Duvet Cover and matching euro shams, and selected them in the Mink color. The traditional gingham looks great against the headboard and grasscloth wallpaper on his walls (similar paper here) creating a classic look.

We had previously purchased this Montara mirror from Serena and Lily, so, to add my finishing touch, I hung it above his desk creating a clean and timeless space for studying.

I love working with Serena and Lily because the quality of their products lasts a lifetime. And, as a decorator, I’ve found that it’s so important to purchase quality furnishings that will stand the test of time … and rough, little boys! I also love a casually elegant room, even for pre-teen, and Serena and Lily’s style evokes just that: casual elegance.

Now, Henry’s room has a timeless and classic feel perfect for a young man, and I am so thankful to have been able to work with Serena and Lily to achieve this for him!

Thank you Serena and Lily for partnering on this post and gifting these beautiful pieces. All opinions are my own.

Halloween Fun

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

Halloween is one of mine (and my kid’s) favorite times of the year to have some fun! While we gear up for chillier weather and trick or treating, the adults are stocking the bar and the children are setting up Halloween decorations. It’s time to revel in the autumn air and enjoy the sweater weather before winter hits.

Besides dressing up in their Halloween costumes, my kids love getting comfortable in a pair of fun Halloween pajamas, like these pajamas covered in ghosts and this set with pumpkins on it. These candy-covered long johns would also make a sweet pair of pajamas for children.

Have a family fun night in the kitchen some evening making and decorating cookies with this Halloween cookie kit. And put up fun decorations indoors, like this ghost-lined garland and these faux white pumpkins, or hang these waterproof black bats in your trees outdoors to help set the spooky scene and get your family even more excited about Halloween!

When it comes to stocking the bar cart, use these smoke-colored drinking glasses or these dark gray champagne coupes to darken the mood a bit for this Halloween season. And these gold mint julep cups would help add an elegant aspect to your bar cart’s drinkware stock. Use this black rattan tray to serve drinks to your guests and this “Boo” serving platter to set out sweets and other treats.

I can’t wait to see my kids dressed up in their costumes and take them trick or treating. Halloween will be here before you know it, but until then we’ll enjoy this October and find little ways to celebrate with each other.

If you need some more inspiration to help freshen up your bar cart, visit my Fall Bar Cart post. Or, if you want to upgrade your fall wardrobe and home decor, check out my Fall Favorites.

Fall Favorites

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year! I especially love the month of October when the crisp autumn air begins to settle in as we officially start to transition from those hot summer days. To help inspire your transition into fall, I’ve gathered a list of some of my current favorite fall finds.

Items to Add to Your Closet

I love adding pretty skirts into my fall wardrobe. This Ulla Johnson skirt has a gorgeous fall inspired floral pattern in browns, blues, and greens. This Stella Pardo ruffled floral maxi skirt is also a fun fall option with its 70s inspired floral pattern. And, this fall, wear your skirts with a pair of cute sneakers, like these low-top Vejas.

Freshen up your wardrobe even more by adding a new blouse or two. This darling sweetheart embroidered blouse is such a gorgeous piece, and this blue-striped ruffled collar button down could easily be dressed up or down. Add extra ruffles into the mix with this super cute blue ruffled sleeved top.

The shacket is one of my favorite fall items. If you haven’t been able to snag a shacket for this fall, this indigo terry shirt jacket would be a good option. It’s super versatile and would look great paired with these leather crepe-sole pull-on boots and a pair of big, square-framed sunglasses.

Items to Add to Your Home

When it comes to upgrading my home decor for fall, I love adding more natural tones and vibes with rattan and wicker. This wicker ginger jar would make a great addition to a bare corner in your living room or placed beside a console. Include a wavy wicker catch-all tray on a table by your front door to hold your keys or use it to hold your decorative pumpkins on your kitchen table.

I also love this rattan seadrift side table to sit next to your favorite chair as well as this wicker flynn petite lamp to complete your workspace or your bedside. And this wooden dip-dyed stool would help add another natural aspect to your space. Use it as an elevated plant stand or as a bath caddy.

Lastly, include more green accents in your home by decorating with this set of soy wax votive candles. This willow-green aventine table lamp would also add a gorgeous green highlight with its modern antique look and classic gold-leafed base.

As we continue making our way into the fall season, I’m looking forward to sharing more of my favorite seasonal finds with you. If you’re needing more fall inspiration, read my Fall Bar Cart story and make sure to check out Serena and Lily’s 20% Off Sale before it ends!

Happy Fall! I’m so excited for the fall season, and one of my favorite things to do to set a new tone in my space is redecorate and restock the bar cart. To prepare my bar cart for this season, I’ve added a few fall touches with pretty white pumpkins and a seasonal palette of warm neutrals with brass highlights.

Bar carts are super versatile and easy to move around when entertaining, and when choosing the right one you want to make sure it has the perfect fit and look to help enhance your home. My favorite bar cart is the South Seas Side Cart which is currently 20% off at Serena and Lily. I’ve had this cart for years and its handwoven rattan material is both chic and durable. And it adds a natural, coastal texture to any room. The Captiva Bar Cart is also 20% off at Serena and Lily and it’s a lengthier, weather-friendly version that can be used both inside and outdoors.

If you love using natural textures when decorating your bar cart, add more rattan and wicker into the mix. Amanda Lindroth has a beautiful new fall collection that can help add the perfect pieces to your fall bar cart look. This scalloped wicker tray is the perfect catch all for just about anything. Add a few faux white pumpkins in it and sit it on a coffee table book or two to give your cart a bit of depth and pumpkin spice.

Add some fall foliage with a bit of texture to beautify your cart even more! Place your favorite bouquet of flowers or leaves in an island wrapped hurricane or rattan covered vase.

Lastly, add your drink and barware so the mini bar is set and prepped! This rattan wine holder is a beautiful option that can hold up to four bottles of wine, and this cocktail shaker, with its antique gold lid, is both functional and chic. Store a few of your favorite drinking glasses, like these everyday champagne flutes, on your bar cart for added ease. Choose these charming island wrapped stemless wine glasses or these vintage-esque stem coupes for added decor.

Now that you’ve dressed your bar cart for fall, you’re ready to host family and friends for an evening or enjoy a drink to yourself! Make the most of this fall season and make lots of memories!

This handwoven wicker table is sure to add texture to any space. Place it next to your living room couch and decorate it with a set of beautiful coffee table books. Add this rattan armchair to your set and play it up with patterns by picking one of the many fabric options for its cushion cover.

I love this brown fringed ottoman. They’re so versatile and you can use it as a footstool or a coffee table. Add some extra earth-tones to your space by layering these brown pillow covers on your couch. Or, grab the same pillow cover in a different color, such as coastal blue, navy, white, dusk, or yellow, and experiment with different colors and sizes.

Bedroom

This coastal blue linen-wrapped driftway three-drawer chest is a gorgeous piece. Pair it with this coastal blue driftway one-drawer nightstand and really elevate your bedroom. You can also use these wicker scallop baskets for extra storage to hold blankets or declutter yours or your children’s room.

This white and wicker petite desk lamp or this waverly wall sconce are great options to use as a bedside lamp or a night light, or just to dress up a space with some special lighting. And this floral patterned wallpaper in coastal blue or grove is sure to invite a vintage-inspired look to a bedroom.

Handcrafted from oak, the Lakehouse Round Dining Table is a Serena and Lily take on the classic monastery table and a beautiful option if you need to update your dining room. Top your table with this marble and brass lazy susan and use it as a chic centerpiece. Add a set of round scalloped-edged placemats to include natural texture to your table.

This rattan Balboa Bench would make the perfect seating option for your children at dinner time, and you can pick a color or pattern for the cushion cover. Add a bit of color to your kitchen with this durable hand-knotted runner. It’s floral pattern is made from hand-knotted yarn in blue and white hues, and it’s super soft under your feet. Then, update and polish your dining room lighting with this Kentfield Pendant which is a modern take on a classic candlestick fixture.

Front Porch / Outdoors

This marble Wainscott Table is one of my favorite pieces on my wish list! Place it on your front porch and pair it with two riviera outdoor chairs to create the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Use a cayman vessel to hold your favorite candle or a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Lastly, snag these Pacifica Planters to house your favorite porch plants. The weather-friendly planter in driftwood would be perfect for mums or decorating with holiday decor like a christmas tree.

Friday Favorites | Fall Time Faves

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

Happy Friday, Friends! In the midwest, we’re beginning to feel that crisp fall air as the leaves on the trees slowly start to turn beautiful oranges and yellows – signs that fall is just around the corner. For this Friday Favorites, I’ve gathered together all of my favorite finds to help you prep for the fall season.

When fall arrives, one of my favorite outfit staples is a good cardigan, or two, to pair and layer with any outfit. This puff-sleeve alpaca blend cardigan is one of my favorite finds. It has a cute cropped fit that would look great with this twill tiered midi dress, which is the perfect dress to transition from summer to fall. This boxy, rib-knit cardigan is also a good fall cardigan option.

This time of year, sweaters and long-sleeved shirts start to make an appearance in our wardrobes, as well. This latte crochet bettina sweater is a mix of comfort and class with its feminine crochet lace cape over a classic crewneck. I also love a good long-sleeved tee, like this modern long red, white, and blue striped tee which is super comfy and can be worn with a good pair of jeans. Dress your outfit up with a pair of cute flats, or grab these shaker waterproof winter boots to wear with your fall fits and prepare for upcoming winter weather.

One of my favorite things about fall is the natural color palette. Add earth tones to your home as well as texture and warmth with woven rattan and wicker decor. This hand-woven wicker scallop pendant will add a classic aspect to a kitchen or dining room as well as these parisian woven rattan bar and counter stools. Include a glass flower vase with a rattan cover to help enhance your space and sit it on your table with a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers to brighten up a room.

I especially love this woven seagrass console table which adds both natural texture and a hint of coastal charm to a space. This Caan desk in white is an elegant option to add to your office. Adding decor made of burlwood to your home is a huge trend right now, and these exotic burl wood gallery frames will provide natural, earthy vibes to any space they’re placed in while holding some of your favorite moments in their frames. Lastly, I am in love with this Oceana Wallpaper in grove green and sky blue. Use this sea-inspired wallpaper to breathe life into a new space.

My Kitchen Favorites

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

I love using items to give a space character and bring it together! Since I especially love to spend time in the kitchen cooking and preparing food for my loved ones, I think it’s important to also put in a good deal of time and energy making my kitchen the space that I want to make those memories in. Here is a list of my favorite items that I love using to help decorate and elevate my kitchen.

For starters, chairs are an important aspect of any kitchen. The chairs you choose really help to build your kitchen’s personality. My favorite chairs to put in a kitchen are rattan or wicker-framed and weather-friendly (because then I know they’re also kid-friendly), like the Sunwashed Riviera counter stool, the Shore counter stool, and the Balboa side chair. Both are great options because you can pick the fabric type and design you want for the cushions, adding a little extra personality to your chairs.

I also love picking a good faucet and lighting to help me better understand the look I want in my kitchen. I love this classic Rohl Perrin and Rowe faucet with a matching side spray. Include this Darlena Lantern Pendant as well for a more modern, yet traditional look.

Of course, the everyday items you use in your kitchen act as decor and certainly help add to its character. I try to always choose beautiful items in lieu of the bland basics that can get lost in the background.

Simple items like a cutting board and knife can help elevate your space. That’s why I love this white and wood serving board and this set of white knives that are aesthetically enhancing and practical kitchen items. This marble salt dish paired with a brass spoon and this scalloped faux rattan casserole dish are also practical items that can be used as kitchen accents.

This cayman seagrass wrapped pitcher adds a bit of coastal charm and it’s become a staple in my kitchen along with these cobalt-colored stemless wine glasses which add some of my favorite blue hues. And I love displaying this Darla Champaign Bowl on the kitchen counter filled with my favorite fruits.

Lastly, play around with other patterns and colors by picking the right oven mitts and tea towels to fit your space. I love adding green and blue accents around my home, and picking a good set of beautiful oven mitts, or towels, like this blue country stripe tea towel, allows me the freedom to have fun with my kitchen decor by turning those everyday items into accents that help give my space a personality.

When updating your kitchen make sure to have fun! And, whether it be enjoying a Sunday brunch with friends or cooking dinner with your kids, make sure to create a space where you want to make your own beautiful memories with your loved ones.

Pre Fall Palette

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

I don’t know about you, but I am really looking forward to fall! So much so, that I’ve already begun preparing my wardrobe for a fall overhaul. This pre fall palette consists of all of the calming whites, creams, greens, and blues to get you ready for that much anticipated cool weather.

Adding a fun and pretty dress into the mix is a great way to say goodbye to summer and transition into fall. This vintage floral cinched waist caftan dress is a flowy and breathable option and ideal for any kind of weather. I also love this ruffle mockneck mini dress in mint or this poplin mini dress in olive or white would be a perfect piece to add to your closet.

This bubbie ditsy tiered dress is such a fun and romantic piece with its red and blue floral print, frilly collar, and lace trim. And this indigo chintz tate dress is another fun floral print dress that is breezy enough for warm weather and will keep you comfortable when the cool temps set in.

Pair any of these dresses with these Emma Sling dress shoes from Sarah Flint, and get $50 off your first pair with the code SARAHFLINT_BAMAGGIEY at checkout!

Get your pre fall wardrobe ready with a few cute tops as well. A white cardigan or cotton fisherman sweater are great options for when the temperature starts to drop and you’re ready to add on the layers. This cream passage top is also a super cute option with its vintage-inspired floral embroidery. And grab this leather trim poncho in blue which has an oversized fit that’s great for seasonal layering and keeping you cozy.

Wear any one of these tops with a good pair of denim jeans, brown suede mules, and an almond leather tote to finish off your pre fall look. And, of course, don’t forget a pretty floral mask to take along with you!

Fall is just around the corner and I’m excited for its arrival! It’s one of my favorite seasons to dress for and I have so much fun playing around with all of the layers and fall colors in my wardrobe.

Back to School

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links that I may earn a small commission from, at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products I would or have used myself.

It’s that time of year again! Even though every August reminds me of how quickly my children are growing up, we love getting them ready to head back to school. And, this year, we’re shopping for all of the necessities so they’ll have a fun and safe school year.

There’s cute floral backpacks for the girls and camo backpacks for the boys to start off the list. Prep their lunch with this bento-style lunch pack which has a removable divider and pair it with a freezable lunch box to keep the kids’ food cool and fresh. If they are in need of a laptop sleeve, this fillmore vegan leather laptop sleeve can fit up to a 15-inch laptop and you can even personalize it with their monogram.

When it comes to school supplies, finding the stuff that’s the most fun is the best! Pencils are a must and they’re even better when they’re decorated with inspirational quotes to keep the kids encouraged while doing school work. This set of Yoobi multicolored mini highlighters will help them take colorful notes, and they can hold all of their school supplies in this fun monster pencil case.

For those “first day of school” outfits, dress the girls up in a cute navy uniform dress or polo rugby striped dress with these Veja sneakers. Likewise, I love this blue striped polo t-shirt or striped half-zip popover sweatshirt with a nice pair of chino shorts for the boys. And add a cool pair of Chuck Taylors or Adidas superstar shoes to polish off the outfit.

Lastly, get a jumpstart on keeping the kids healthy and safe this school season with Fairy Tales Conditioning Spray to help prevent lice and  Mary Ruth’s Immunity Gummies (which aren’t only great for kids, but perfect for adults, too!) for extra immune support.

My family is definitely happy to have some aspect of normalcy this fall. We especially want to make sure the kids are fully prepared and ready to take on the school year with the right supplies, clothing, and tools to keep them healthy.

And, maybe you can even find time to take care of your home and yourself while the kids are away each day. Take a look at my Toy Organization Favorites to get inspiration on all of the best ways to keep your kids’ play areas clean and read my post on Developing a Self Care Routine as a reminder to make sure you’re taking care of You, too.
